US to EU ...
Hi guys
I am thinking to take my 2007 328i coupe to Europe. I was wondering what modifications do I have to have done on the car and the main thing will my Idrive work there if I but the European map.! ? Due to different regions it may not read the disc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated . Thanks |

I thought that regions were only for video DVDs, not for data. Your traffic data may not work. Your BMW Assist will probably not work because the built in phone electronics are different in Europe.

That won't fix the hardware difference in the cell phone module.

The OP said that he has a USA spec. 2007 328i. His CDMA TCU for the USA market will probably not work very well with the European GSM phone system.

The Bluetooth will work fine. The emergency calls can work through any GSM phone connected the TCU with the Bluetooth.

I am also interested in chaging my radio stations from North American to European. Can you do this?

You taking a lefthanddrive car with you to the UK? Or are you primarely going to drive in other countries? Won;t the shipping be more expensive then just getting a new one in the UK?

Shipping is not expensive about $1200 + about 220pound in the UK side for customs... Changing residence from one country to an other you don't have to pay VAT or Duty on the car so that's why i figured it's worth it |
