▀▄ eas | DIY: DICE MediaBridge iPod/iPhone Multimedia Hub

Now that MediaBridge kits have been out for the last week or so, some have tackled the brave task of installing themselves - while others may be a bit unsure of what specific steps to take when installing.

Those that are still on the fence on what procedures are needed for installation, this DIY is for you.

MediaBridge for BMW - Features at a glance
Connect: iPod, USB, SIRIUS, AUX, Bluetooth. The highly anticipated MediaBridge for BMW has arrived with all of its great features- ALL of them in one kit:

- Balanced Audio Output
- Digital USB Audio
- End-user Downloadable Firmware Updates
- Integrated Controls
- Text Display
- iPod-like Browsing for iPod or USB Flash Drive
- Charges iPod/iPhone
- AUX Input
- SIRIUS Satellite Radio Connectivity

Let's begin.

Step 1
Remove the driver side inner trunk light.

Step 2
Remove the clips inside the trunk lining to access CD Changer harness.

Step 3
Expose the CD Changer harness and connect the DICE harness.

Step 4
Tuck the DICE Harness within the trunk lining and into the rear seats. Tuck the harness under the bottom of the rear seats.

Step 5
Pull off the floor side trim to tuck the DICE harness under it.

Step 6
Disassemble the glove box. Arrows are pointing to the location of the screws.

Step 7
Tuck the DICE harness under the kicker panel.

Step 8
Connect the DICE Harness to MediaBridge Multimedia Hub

This is the location we will be placing the MediaBridge, right behind the glovebox:

Step 9
Plug in the wires for the Bluetooth Microphone, iPod/USB, Sirius, and AUX. Also connect a USB cord on the other side for easier access to the MediaBridge when needed for future software updates.

Step 10
Place the MediaBridge Unit into area behind glovebox.

Step 10 (optional)
Plug in the Sirius SC-C1 receiver to the MediaBridge.

Step 11 (optional)
Reinstall the glove box after you run the iPod/USB cable into the glovebox. Tuck away the USB cord in the kicker panel for future software updates.

Step 12
Plug in your iPod in the glovebox where your iPod docking cable is located. If you have the USB cord plugged into the MediaBridge, you can plug in your iPod docking cable or USB stick in the glovebox as well.

Finished
DICE MediaBridge is working, and my HTC HD2 is linked via Bluetooth.

Enjoy!
