I need some specs
I have a 06 325i w/ 3.0 215hp. My brother has a performance shop and has a fabricator. I'm trying to build a turbo kit for my car but I need someone with experience w/ these cars to lend me a hand. Keep in mind I'm developing a kit to be reproduced. I need the nity gridy about these engines. Who has tried stuff and blown headgaskets and crazy people like that. B/c when building a kit like this I need to know where these cars start to fall apart. I need to know there limits. Whats the compression ratio on this motor? How much torque can the stock tranny handle? How much power can the engine handle? What is the output of the injectors? Can a technical person please share some info with me? Thanks in advance.

Are there parts that interchange
Are the heads the same, the block, the internals, how do they differ from the 330? Can you bolt a e46 head on an e90 engine? These are all questions I need answered.

What you're trying to do is a bit of a challenge. No one makes a viable aftermarket kit for the NA E90. ARMA has some sort of kit but rumor is its going to be around 12 Gs. Most people on this board will tell you to trade in for a 335 or do some sort of swap. For most people this isn't possible. They're into their car for a number of reasons. Keep that in mind when more people start posting. If you are successful, and can produce what some consider to be an affordable kit, you will have truly accomplished something. Good luck.

lol, unfortunately this isn't the ls1 board. Anyways, from what i understand forced induction and figuring out how to make vanos work with it is the big problem. But the cost of a turbo kit is another issue. Not many people are willing to pay 12k for a turbo kit when you can just trade for 335i. Build us a 5K supercharger kit and i might buy it.

after reading up on the bms. It's very limited due to the fact that you cannot tune your own car. You can only use the tunes that they give you.

A stand alone system like an AEM EMS would most likely work, but requires more labor (all custom wiring and sensors, iirc) and also much more cost. check with Craven about using gintani to tune the dme. That might be a more economical route. |
