AFE Intake

I recently purchased an AFE intake with a K&N cone off a friend. He was willing to do the return but wanted me to post if my intake was really the problem. We installed the intake and it was giving a beautiful noise. After two days the intake threw a service light. After one week of the light being on, i put the car in drive and the rpms started going back and fourth (under 1000 rpm) and the car idled. Right when that happened i took the intake off and put the stock intake on. Three days passed with the stock intake on and the service light went off. Please give me some input

Did you plug in your MAF?

Check for leaks on the rear of the intake elbow

or take pics, so we can assist

Your MAF is not plugged in or is dirty. the K&N is oiled so sometimes it dirties up the MAF, or you didnt attach the wire for it when you reinstalled.

Yeah that is strange. The AFE intake comes with its on cone. Had no problem with mine and it really makes a difference when combined with a PBX and a decent exhaust.
