My current 335 is jet black w/ coral. Lease is up so Im thinking of ordering the sapphire black w/ oyster. Does anyone have pics of the oyster interior?

Yes, it's pretty -- however, it will get dirty really fast. Years ago I had a VW with white upholstery. Like this one, it looked FINE! For a few months...
I wouldn't do it again. |

Absolutely correct. My friend just got the oyster interior, and is going absolutely insane with it. The seat bolster is showing permanent discoloration at 6k miles. Also, the black dash-doors-etc dramatize dust and scuffs. She cleans her car a lot and takes really good precautionary care to it... to each their own, but practicality would definitely rule out the Oyster interior option for me. |

Makes me rethink, I had given up hopes on any other colors, looks like Saddle Brown or Chestnut Brown might be gorgeous yet practical. OP, sorry for jacking your thread. Hope you would not mind, I am also considering the Oyster with all fervor. I'd say go for it, if you don't mind taking the risk and taking extra care maintaining it. |

I pulled the trigger on a saddle brown cabrio a couple of weeks ago... if you read my threads, you will see that I was stuck on oyster for about a month, but when it came down to it, I ended up getting saddle. I wanted sporty look with galcier alum trim and the oyster didnt cut it. I think its the fact that oyster looked more "gray" than "campaign" that made me not like it too much. good luck with your choice!!

To OP....my 2010 328i has oyster interior, and while it's gorgeous (especially in sunny California) it shows dirt easily and do pick up dye from clothes. I agree with everyone that you should avoid it if you're not keen on detailing the interior frequently. I detail my interior every two weeks. It has been four months now and so far so good.

How long has the Oyster interior been out? Could you find some CPO cars with it to see how it wears? Otherwise I LOVE the color and I usually hate light color interiors but from the first day I sat in an Oyster color interior I loved it!

Leather should be cleaned regularly anyway. My Audi A4 had leather in a similar color to oyster (a lighter shade of beige) and it held up pretty well, probably a good idea to put a stain guard on it though.
Oyster is a bit darker than the Lemon interior. No matter what color leather you get, it is going to show wear over time. If that concerns you then stick to leatherette.

my 2002 325 had gray leather, and the dye from my jeans rubbed of on it. I was never able to get it out either

Scotchguard leather protector perhaps? I haven't used it on car seats before.

I've used leatherique on it a couple times and maintain it with just simple distilled water on an MF towel. Nothing intensive just something you should do with any leather interior.

friend has light gray interior, which is comparable (in merc). It's dirty very quickly but some people hate dark cars inside and rather have the maintenance issue than be trapped in a dark interior. If you are one of those, then get oyster, it's a great looking combo just not practical. And forget about being extra careful - as we all know, we screw up when we forget about it for a second.
