I noticed some power loss at the lower end. Not a whole lot thought. Also it is rice rocket annoying loud. You might like it so I say try it out. I do have a muffler delete pipe that I should sell since I will never put it back on. I had an issue with the cheap tips on it. I had this whistle/ air nozzle type of sound. I'm not adding the tips to the price. They are free. I'm just going to get a PE or Ikno exhaust. PM me if you are interested in the MD pipe I have.

Dont do it. it is so obnoxiously loud. doesnt sound good. thats my opinion. A lot of knowlageable members have them, and will disagree with me, which is the point of a forum, but I think its a terrible idea.
You will lose low end tq. In our cars, we need as much tq as we can get. Thus, losing tq=bad idea. Really the difference youll feel is from the weight loss of the muffler. although it is not worth the sound. Get a top speed, remus, or Ikon muffler. or go big and get the PE. but for the money, go with the first 3.

ive done the muffler delete twice, first time it was done at some crappy muffler shop an the drone was horrible, i only lasted a week with it, second time i did it just for kicks before bimmerfest i didn't even weld it on, it used clamps because i knew it wasn't gonna be permeant, i made custom tubing an welded tips to the tubing an it came out pretty good, its been on since may but i think ive had my kicks an in a week or two i will go back to oem, i personally think it sounds good from outside oh an i love downshifting an hearing the pops

Muffler delete sounds amazing in my opinion... Didn't feel any noticeable difference in performance. Don't delete your resonator though... Sounds really raspy. Oh ya and get nice tips.
Some people hate it and some people love it. Youtube some videos of it or see if you can meet up with someone on your regional forums who has done it before you make a decision. |

the most gains probably bmw performance. but its not worth the grand or more you will spend with installation. The other mufflers will give you a couple hp and tq here and there if any. Mainly, you are gaining some power from weight loss. With our cars you will be lucky to get 5 hp from an exhaust system, which is negligible. so why spend and arm and a leg? I really like the top speed with a res delete. you lose some good pounds with it. or the RE Ikon with a res delete. the Remus is the most conservative sounding with top speed in between, and ikon at the loudest. regardless, delete the res, you will love the sound, its a must. its not louder, just deeper. Dont question yourself, just do it and pay one labor fee.
Ikon is raspier than top speed. Top speed is as if remus and ikon had a baby. perfect balance in my opinion. and its the cheapest. 300 bucks... cant beat that! thats my 2 cents. others, feel free to disagree.

it sounds terrible. obnoxiously loud. most people who have done it hate it and switch back. Muffler delete is one thing, but with the res off...its so raspy. I would strongly advise against it. Keep the ikon with res delete. nothing will be much louder than that... a good sounding louder that is. PE might be a tad louder. but again... a few decibels for !000 bucks... not worth it.

I agree with you on this. I mean 1K for BMW performance exhaust system. I do like the sound though. I honestly don't care about gains. I want an exhaust that sounds good inside and outside. check out this vid with a Ikon exhaust and res delete: [u2b]<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aG316kSyXig&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aG316kSyXig&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>[/u2b]
