Waiting to buy a XEDE because...

Here are my 3 reasons for waiting.

1. Full Kit and Install Videos actually released

2. Shiv Mentioned he was working on a version that didnt require the aux boost solenoid which requires mods to the engine that are in plain sight(see this post):
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=21
I am waiting for the new version now.

3. Waiting to see results of other people who bought the kit and did a "self-install"

Shiv, any progress on #2? (the aux boost solenoid post)

Anyone else waiting for a specific reason?

All you've ended up doing is becoming last in line to get one. You know you'll get it anyway. With or without the aux boost solenoid.

By the way, since none have shipped out and all the Xede's in vehicles now were installed by Shiv and other Vishnu members, you'll be waiting a while for number 3

But hey, its your cash.

I'm waiting because I'm afraid it takes some time for Shiv to have time to come to Europe or to have a off-the-shelf product ready.

I would like to fully experience the results myself asap. Seeing the solenoids is nice, but feeling the acceleration is even better

A real-time on/off switch in the cabin is the main feature I am waiting for.

Being able to run with power at any time with the press of a button somewhere discreetly placed in the cabin...

You see, why wear the engine out more when you don't want to have to touch the pedal with a feather's weight but when you want it... just hit the button and mash the gas

yea thats what i was thinking, 300hp and torque will be plenty for daily driving, even the spirited driving that i do 90% of the time, but i would want xede for the occasional super spirited driving and when some ricer pulls up next to me (or an s2k or g35 ect) let me just get out and pop my hood and fiddle around oh wait green fuck

Wearing the engine is not a factor. It wears slightly more only when you use the "reserve" above the stock 300hp (but then that's what you want). When using "ordinary" amount of power the wear is just "ordinary" with Xede or without.

After having to push all the buttons in M5, I'm not going back myself. First, you need to find the power button, then the A/C button (robbing a lot of hp) and on top of that you need to steer and hit the right pedal

Life is meant to be easy. Just floor it. It was too many times that I rushed into a situation suddenly and missed pushing a button...

The only minor drawback with tuned map is that the tuned response can be over-responsive, so finding a compromise that get's it more responsive than stock but not too irritating is the challenge. However, I really believe that that compromise has been found as the responsiveness has not been discussed here. Thus, it cannot be a big problem.

I thought as of right now the G35 and 335 were matches as far as power/weight/speed. What are the times for a S2K?

S2000 vs. 335

Hey guys,

I own both. My S2000 is an 04 with the updated engine with about 15k miles. I can assure you that the 335 will walk away from the S2000 in pretty much any situation: stop, rolling, 55+, etc. If you work the S2000 HARD you might be able to get 0-60 in 5.5 seconds or so and the quarter mile in mid to upper 13 second range. The 335 will do better than that without much drama. In my S2000 I have outran numerous G35s and 350zs. I am convinced that the average 335 driver wouldn't have trouble with G35s or S2000s, at least until that new G35 coupe with 500hp rolls out next year

Now if I could only figure out how to make the damn 335 shift into 2nd in a hurry while I am getting on it. I am used to the 6 speed in the S2000 (which is WONDERFUL and fast) but the 6-speed shifter in the 335 is much more balky. When I shift it slow, it is perfect but when shifting fast, it has missed the gear entirely two different times so far.

I believe ArmyBimmerDude is refering to the new G35 with 306HP. That engine in the new coupe to come should only be slightly slower than a stock 335i.

Given equal drivers, the '07 G35 won't win either...but if you blow your launch and the G35 nails it it will take awhile to catch up. FWIW, the 1/4th trap speeds I've seen on the new G35 are around 100-103, and the 335i 103-105.

Versus the S2000 you would have to blow a tire to lose.

Ah ok. I see that CEA 3 was talking out of his ass about the S2k, BUT....I mean honestly, in a straight line, is the E92 that much faster than a G35? I really thought that it would be a coin toss everytime the two cars race each other. Guess I was wrong.

what are you talking about?

did you not read straight from an S2000 owner who just posted a 335 will WALK AWAY from it in any situation?

I have built hondas my whole life and i can 100% assure you that this car will WALK a s2000.

and as far as the current g35... i have driven them plenty of times and the 335 will beat that car as well.

im going off personal experience... as i have driven, raced, tuned, worked on all of the above cars.

Oh shit! My bad man, I understood it differently. I apologize for that comment.

ahahah no worries.... actualy that is what i figured you thought it read... i almost did for a second also.

but yea, i will tell you this car will walk those cars.

actauly in my Audi which i have a built motor and gt28rs turbo on it. I would say pump gas vs pump gass on my 335 vs my Big Turbo A4... the 335 would almost hang with it... and in my wagon i have destroyed a lot of cars.

on race gas that is a different story. but with the Xede shit... that is going to be almost as fast as my A4.

dont worry... with the Xede you will seriously cause a lot of damage on the streets... there are not going to be to many cars out there that can hang.

Anyone else have a reason for waiting to buy a XEDE?

I am totally fine with being last in line... actually, I dont even want to be in line yet, I just want to sit back and watch the scene for a while...

That way if the people who were in the front of the line start having issues, I can walk away. And at the same time, I will get a more refined product...

You must be high bro. In stock form a 335i will take either with little trouble.

Edit: Opps, me too, you worded it strangely so we thought the opposite of what you were saying, my bad.

No no, I made the same mistake. He means that the 335 will dust both of them
