3.64 LSD Installed
I bought a very low mile used diff from a forum member and just had it installed yesterday, along with a cdv mod. I coudln't be happier! Driving in the city 1st is still very useful and every shift lands the car in the power band. Whether its part throttle or WOT red line shifts the car just feels so much faster. I was worried this would be too much gear for the street- just not the case at all. On the highway at 75 the tack is right at 3000. I haven't been in a situaltion to test the lsd yet. I can't wait to auto x it now. There is a hint of chatter making sharp lefts, but I think that may go away. If you are thinking about doing this... DO IT!! And CDV... no brainer. Tim |

LSD
Nice!!!
I'm thinking about getting this done too but with a 3.46 final gear ratio. Mind letting us know what brand it is? Quaife, Wavetrack etc. And how much was the install. Thanks

Pic of what? My car laying rubber?
After a few days of driving I have zero regrets. Its just awesome. The only thing that I don't like is that my car sounds like a sewing machine with the stock exhaust but I have a bmw p.e. on the way. |

Amazing mod. Most underrated modification to modern day BMW's IMO. Gearing is too long in these cars from the factory (especially considering 6 spd). LSD is simply icing on the corner exit.
Are you getting Low tire pressure (tpws) light under hard starts with DTC off/on? I have heard that the rotational wheel spin puts the sensors out of parameters and requires clearing the light after loss of traction, is this true in your case? |

No, but in that situation my cruise control will decide not to work when I turn the T/C back on.

After an auto cross this weekend all I can say is that this is a must have for anyone really looking to get the most out of thier NA car.
Being able to rotate the car through any corner with power on oversteer is a think of beauty! |

Sweet. I was looking at that LSD in the classifieds section too. Fantastic deal for that piece. How is the 3.64 working out mileage-wise when cruising? I know mileage is not so hot anyways for regular street driving no matter what you do, before or after the gearing change.

My gas mileage hasn't suffered at all and may be slightly better- I reset it when I had the rear end changed- I am averaging 25.5mpg with a mix of 60% city 40% highway.
