Hot, hot, hot

Check out the temperature reading in the car while sitting in traffic on I-95 just south of DC.

Maybe this has been seen elsewhere, but not in VA.

That's cracy hot, 48.8°C, I've never seen hotter than 30.5°C (87F) outside my car here in Norway.

My wife's SLK was reading 117 here in Tampa last week. It's been ridiculously hot here too... but I hear every day from Dad in DC how miserable it is. I remember thinking I was going to die sitting in RFK Stadium 3 years ago up there. That summer was disgusting.

LOL me too at first!

But yeah man, DMV humidity is no joke. I must say my car has never read that before, though.

Interesting that you mentioned this temperature thing. This past week, I drove up to Harrisburg, PA from DC. I was at a stop light in PA and the temperature read 87 degrees (BTW...what happened to the degree symbol on keyboards?) and shortly thereafter I was driving in the same area and the temperature read 93 degrees. Then I stopped at a light and it went back down to 87 in the same place where it had, while moving, read 93.

I think the thermostat reads something off the car somewhere, but the observed pattern still doesn't make any sense if that be so...

Anyway, OP, even with some margin of error around six degrees, 114-126 degrees is still hot as all get out!

I would expect it to be a bit off. But sitting in beach traffic on 95 roasting on the roadway, it probably was not all that far off.

... and I have had issues twice before with the Vanos solenoid sticking on hot trips.

Get in the car this morning, SES light pops up.

Looks like another solenoid is going to be put in at my service appt next week.
