The video was cool but it obviously didn't tell us squat. Marketing ploy....keeps you guessing with the hopes of great anticipation/arrival. Just not working for me. Besides....I'm still going through the drivers manual to figure out all the details.

More than llikely a new UI for the I-Drive system........... product pictures are teasers designed to show functionality.
Or they have decided to take on the Consumer Electronics industry!!! |

The video went by so quickly the only thing I saw was a camer and what looked like a replacement for the in-dash cup holder.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest, like some others, that this is yet anothoer step in the direction of portable personalization which perhaps can be connected to a home PC and customized with music, maybe video, phone settings and numbers as well as other personal information which could be useful to the i-drive system and the driver once connected to your BMW. I guess we may know soon enough!

If it is a piece of consumer electronics that attaches to the car, like the simple ipod interface, even after it's announced what it is we'll be waiting for it for 2+ years. And by the time it arrives it'll be horribly outdated technology.
Car companies just can't move fast enough in the world of consumer electronics to make a difference. |
