To those who have BMW Performance exhaust....

First of all, the exhaust sounds awesome. I can't stop driving my car!!

Do you hear it drone a little when the car is idling at 600-700 RPM and feel some vibration inside the car? Shouldn't it be completely quiet?

I do not feel any drone. Exhaust sounds beautiful at all driving speeds. My exhaust is actually pretty quiet when cruising but sounds really nice when accelerating.

For anyone looking for the PE I encourage it. Not too loud!

Is it pretty quiet inside the cabin when the car is idling?

You can hear the exhaust at idle but it is not loud or annoying. If ramps up on acceleration.

If you are hearing vibrations make sure all the bolts are tightened on the PE.

Maybe your heat shield is vibrating for some reason?

I hope it works out for you. Let us know the outcome.

Good luck OP!

aaa...finally i figured it out ! It is the 2 clamps that are touching the metal plate (held by 8 torx screws). I moved those clamps away from the plate and the vibration is GONE !

I'm so happy with this PE.

Glad you figured it out. I knew it had to be something with the installation.

Good job OP!

Should not void the warranty however just last week I had my car in for a warranty service due to a noise near my front right wheel. BMW heard the noise however refused to look more into it since I have the BMW Performance Brakes installed. They told me since I did not have the brakes installed at BMW I need to put the car back to stock before they will look further into it. I refused to put the factory brakes back on so I ended up and left without hte isssue resolved. I contacted BMWNA and they said that since the BMW performance parts were not installed at an authorized dealership that I will not have any warranty on those areas unless I put it back to stock. So if you are worried about warranty issues get it installed at BMW. Personally I had them installed outside BMW as they will steal your money. An exhaust is a simple mod that you should not have to worry about.

This exhaust rocks.

I had a section of the tail pipes trimmed and the tips welded back on like ^^^^^ did. Looks and sounds wonderful.

StealYourFace, that is cool. I give thanks to an old friend who gave me the idea to cut the tips and re-weld them. This week I get my mtech installed so another transformation will be born

PM me some photos of your ride. I would like to see it.

Well your penny pinching left you with a much bigger cost of now not having whatever that sound was looked at and addressed or the cost of taking off the brakes and switching and then switching back.

Sometimes people are cheap on things that dont make sense-if you get a bmw product spend the extra 100 bucks for the install-anyone in their right mind would "pay 100 dollars or 200 " to "keep" their warranty providing it was voided like you said-

some people make no sense

Well I would not call it penny pinching. If it was $100.00 to $200.00 difference to get it installed at BMW then I would have most likely had them installed there. I saved about $1000.00 going my route. The noise is not that big of a deal but should have been taken care of. Personally I think it is my right side brake pads but I am not 100% certain. I will not pay BMW for this stuff when you can either put it on your self or get it installed cheaper elsewhere. Let's just think of getting a non-BMW part installed.

I am not sweating it.
