Alarm Question

Hi all...

Is there an option to enable the alarm arm/disarm "chirp-chirp" sound? I only get the visual thing but not the sound! I searched through the manual and through the i-drive itself and could not find such an option. Maybe it is not allowed in Europe to have that?

Try this from I-drive menu.

Menu->Settings->Door Locks

There should be an "Accoustic signal on unlock/lock" box option.

PS - thanks for posting your car images awhile ago. I enjoyed them in anticipation of mine which was similar.

I'm wondering if mine will have this option. I've left my 320si unlocked many times whilst visiting a client or outside my house.

I don't remember seeing this in the idrive menu... Do you have in yours?

Yes. That's the sequence in mine to turn chirping on and off when you lock/unlock the doors.

It's in mine too. How is it possible that it is not in yours?

It is the same on the 3-series, European models do not have the chirp sound. On the other hand we can use the remote to both open and close the windows, while north-american models can only remotely open the windows.
