September production changes for Canada

Hi everyone,

We just ordered a BMW 535i, and were wondering if the September production changes are for Canada as well. Our dealer can get us an August build, however we were planning on holding off till the September changes are made. In that case it would be an october build since he says that september production is full. Our dealer does not seem to know anything about these changes, but he said that he would look into it. I have not found any specific information for Canada, but I'm assuming that the changes will be for us as well.

Well unless your stealer manages to find the exact spec you want from somewhere other than the main factory in Dingolfing. It will now be the new model year build. The factory is now in a shutdown. They normally retool and carry out other maintenance during this time so I can't see there being any new car builds being done. Production starts up again come September. Ask stealer what build slot has he got and what week it will be built.

Yes, Canadian builds will have new functionality. Ask them for the Canadian Dealer Product Planning Bulletin "5 Series-MY11-05" that was released on 07/16/10 which completely explains what is included in September builds. I don't have a copy (yet) but took many detailed notes. Also see my post with comments on the Xdrive which contained details re the Canadian September builds.
