Imported US BMW have HPFP warranty?

So I know I should probably call in to find out, but I don't get home until all offices close so I thought I'd put this question up here first.

If I buy a BMW 335i from the US, when I import it over to canada will it lose the 10 year hpfp warranty that the 335's in the US have?

If Canadian cars don't have it why would a Canadian dealer honor it... I think you would have to take it to a dealer in NY state.

I'm basing this on the fact that Canadian dealers don't even honor the maintenance package you get south of the boarder.

Hmm, I'll be in the states regularly so bringing it to a US dealer won't be too much of a prob, but I guess if I get a failure getting the car there will be difficult.

I would call up BMW Canada (1-800-567-2691) and inquire about it. Yeah that would suck if it crapped out, limp all the way to NY.

My Warranty has expired now, but my car has never been to a Canadian dealer. I went to Buffalo every time I needed warranty work. The US warranty is much better than the Canadian one, but you have to go to a US dealer to get it.

I have heard that Cdn dealers charge a $500 "inspection" fee before they will do warranty work on a US car, but I am not certain that is true as I never had any reason to find out. But that is about the cost of flatbedding a car to Buffalo should there be a warranty covered failure that makes the car undriveable.
