When I try to book an appointment for an oil change, my SA told me that there's a recall on some kind of software upgrade, maybe we are looking at the same update.

My car got the software update last week when I had to get other warranty work done. I noticed fuel pump noise when I unlocked/locked the car and had to go back to the dealership to ask what had been done. They just told me not to worry that it was the fuel system preparing itself to build fuel pressure. The SA tried to explain that all 335s have the noise but when he tried to unlock 2 other 335s it didn't make the noise. Other than the pump noise I have not noticed if the software upgrade has chnaged anything else. If anything else come up I'll post it.

I have a 330i and it makes the same noise when unlocking the car....I would think this is automatic (factory-specs), any thoughts on other N52 owners?

Does anyone know if they only update the way the fuel pump operates, or do they update all modules including the engine and wastegate maps?

I noticed a ticking noise now...not sure if software upgrade had anything to do with it.

I went in to complain about long cranks on cold startup and was probably the HPFP...(i had one already replaced). Instead of replacing they did software update. I've noticed a turbo lag under 3000rpm as before lag was non -existent. Anyone else experience the same? Not sure if i should call them or wait to see if car works iteself out

Question

When I came to the dealer for oil change, they said something about BMW software for fuel pump. I told them they could do it some other time. I was afraid they would find out my piggy back tuning.
Has anyone here got that BMW software for fuel pump without first uninstalling your piggy back tuning?
Just curious....
Thank You

I have the lag too...don't get the raw power until over 3k.

I was going to give my SA a call to see If I can get this software update + lag fix. My car had the HPFP replaced with new software in sept 09.

I just don't want any wastegate rattle since right now I have little to none.

Is there anybody here going in for the software update with a piggy back tune intact?

SA said nothing they can do to fix the lag. Just wait for another software update. This is a campaign for all the cars that have the n54 engine. (535i, 135i etc)
