Need color help. Opinions.
OK, I am about to order a 535xi.
I am really torn about the color choice. I think BMW needs more and better colors both exterior and interior. For this price level they could do it. Like how about a navy blue leather? My wife has a Navy blue (Monaco Blue) X5 with saddle leather and it is perfect. Unfortunately they have changed that blue and the leather. Anyway, I was convinced that the coolest combo would be artic silver with a cinnamon brown interior and my salesman is saying I am nuts. He thinks they do not go together. I think it is a sophisticated choice. Here is the problem. Black interiors feel small. Silver exterior black interior would be ok, but boring and standard. Second choice would be Dark Graphite with Cinnamon. Is there anyone else here that thinks that silver/cinnamon is an inspired choice?? LL |

Have you seen the cinnamon interior? I don't know anyone who has seen it and liked it. If you do like it, then go for it. It would indeed be a sophisticated choice.

I have Cinnamon and I like it with my Deep Sea Blue. I definitely wouldn't get a black interior. I had beige in the my last car, so I wanted a change. My second choice would have been gray. Oyster is light beige... very light. With a silver exterior, hmmm. I think Cinnamon would be OK. Silver/gray would be very monochromatic. Silver/beige doesn't really seem good to me. Silver/black is probably the most color-appropriate choice. Well, except that it's a black interior. bleh

I saw the cinnamon in a 2011 with silver. To me, it was a bit too much of a contrast. The cinnamon is pretty reddish to my eye. Of course, I have a brown Z3 with saddle brown leather so I might be biased to a more brownish tone for interior leather.
I've been debating that interior color question myself and keep coming back to oyster/black . . but I'm concerned about wear showing on the oyster. . . Just make sure you see the color combo IN PERSON before you order! good luck |

agreed. My only problem is i am scared to have kids in a car that has an oyster or grey interior. I like beige int. and black ext. that is classic to me. i would also get space grey and grey interior.

I saw cinnamon real with a F10 GT in light blue exterior. Personally I quite like the cinnamon however the headliner is gray and I don't think they are too color coordinated. If black headliner is offered then I probably will go for it. Eventually I chose the oyster/black

I am coming out of an Espresso interior in an Audi. It was, 4 years ago, considered unique/sophisticated, etc. In general, I love brown/saddle interiors, but it has to be a tone of brown that YOU love. I say love because it may be novel to you at the time of purchase, but will the color still resonate with you in 3 or 4 years time? Black, oyster, and tan are classics. Cinnamon may be nice but "you've gotta feel it". I am not sure if any of us can offer much by way of advice to you. Color choices are highly personal IMHO. Good luck choosing.

For those who "hate" or "don't know anyone who has liked" the cinnamon interior - who are you people? Everyone I know who has seen it - in person - has liked it (and everyone who has ordered a 535 or 550 has ordered it).
I went with cinnamon with the standard (grey) headliner because (a) anthracite is *real* dark and unnecessary, and (b) it's $500. For a different color. If it was alcantara - which it *should* have been - I would have ordered it. But $500 for a black headliner which makes the rear feel like a coffin (the front seats are VERY tall) was not for me. |

Silver/black is classic and safe and I think silver/cinnamon would be interesting. Go for it.

The only color that looks good with cinnamon leather is Black Sapphire with the anthracite headliner. I have seen that in person and it looks spectacular.

Personally the cinnamon doesn't do it for me either. I really am enjoying my grey leather (with Anthracite wood and Space Grey Metallic exterior). It is monochromatic, but that's not a bad thing...

I've had silver/black, silver/grey, grey/black, white/black, imola red/black and, imho, black/black still looks the best.

Cashmere Silver would be da bomb with oyster black. Cashmere silver is a warm silver. Oyster gray is a beautiful warm gray.

Did you look at the following link? http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthre...Cinnamon+Brown This is a silver car with cinnamon brown. I thought about the cinnamon brown cause I love brown interiors but the Cinnamon Brown is too red fo me so I went for Dark Graphite with Grey interior, antracite wood, and antracite headliner. I love the headliner and with a grey interior it give a nice two tone look with the Grey bottom and black top. I will put up picutres when i get the chance. |
