Cooling, intake and ventilation
I'm on a mission to increase air flow. Not just air in but out also. With that is there any benefit to deleting my fog lights in the interest of increasing airflow.
I can't really put an M-Tech bumper on, although I would love to, as the extra 1.25" depth would scrape all over my drive way. I gotta keep the stock bumper. But I am putting the vorsteiner vented hood on. Any suggestions? Last edited by jbass524; 08-08-2010 at 07:15 PM.. Reason: more indicitive title |

You have an upgraded intake and exhaust?

i removed the cover in the wheel well on the driver site for my AFE intake so some more cool air could get in there. i know it would be hotter at idle with the brakes but during driving the only problem i can see is water but it hardly rains in SoCal
best suggestion is Dinan intake. since it does exactly what your looking for almost. if you Delete your Fogs, you will get and error code unless you tuck them away. |

I see a need to modify this post
This is something I've been thinking about for a bit. We need to do whatever we can too help the engine breathe and cool the motor. This should be a definitive list of what we need to do to create a reliable track car or hard driver.
Post Modified to include intake and exhaust but let's definitely include ambient air under the hood. Here 's the best breathing 335 parts list. Please update the list with suggestions. Include methods of bringing in and venting air, i.e.: vented hood or air inlet modifications. *I have installed or am getting soon Intake
Exhaust
Ambient air, I can't put an M-Tech bumper on as it's too low for where I live :-(.

not saying we cant help you but you are posting in the NA thread and the FI guys might be able to help you better.
you could get scoops, a m-tech front bumper and a front lip to direct more air into the engine. maybe you could wrap your exhaust headers to insulate but i have no experience with it. i mean i think you know that to cool your engine a new intercooler and oil cooler would be your best bet. |

I was doing some research in the dinan intake. It's just an extra pipe the goes into a hole they cut in your airbox. I just got a BMW performance intake wich has a larger inlet opening and an extra opening near the windshield. However the shape of the airbox is almost the same so the Dinan intake may work on it too.
