Integral Camshafts? heard of them

I was randomly searching today and found this Integral race cams for the n52 engine-does not give much info, they are the bronze looking ones on the right side-I would think you need tuning with this

Depends on how aggressive the lift and duration would be. Race spec cams(high duration) will need engine tuning for idle to be at 1k-1.2k and A/F ratios. Tuning with cams will help make more power as the car would not be running lean with the increase in air.

I don't get it. This is yes another company that sells some sort of mod that is expensive and potentially destructive and has no teat car or dyno sheets or any proof of concept. It's like they just make up some values and spit out a cam and hope it works. Customers need a little more assurance than "expertise" before they drop a few grand on a mod that could damage their car.

Well the thing is its not expensive-its like 600 bucks or somethin (cheap as far as cams go if you compare to rdsport anyway) Tuning is a non issue as that can be taken care of-I am no tuner and have no access to a shop-but if I were craven I would try these and play around with your gintani tunes-with this increased capacity for lift you could really rake out some hp-

600 seems very reasonable.

That is what is surprising-cams are way easy to make-if you are a cam shop-I mean to improve on the ones we have, you can take advantage of the fact we have vanos and VVT and simply make the maximum lift higher and the vvt can limit that lift when needed but for max rpms it could open even more-

This is the mod with a 7500 rpm redline that I need-

Its not really a $600 mod, Id say you are closer to $1200 just for the cams w/o tuning

Whats the booktime for a remove and replace of the cams?

Id imagine you'd need to consider upgrading valve springs as well too. Does Ferrara or anyone even make valve springs for the N52?

IMHO this is a $2000+ upgrade if you do it properly

I have done camshafts to my M3 and from a reputable shop it would be atleast $600. Valvetrain upgrade(valve spring, collars, and retainer) would be another $700. So Ben is right that it would be a $2k mod.

I am looking for cams for my 130i race car. The RD Sport cams are supposed to give 26 -28hp with a re map but are £5000 ($8000)!! Did you ever get a response from Integral?

Seems like this is a reputable company, as far as mazda miatas go. They are
built right here in the US as well.Seeing as I am still in warranty, I'm not planning on doing this, but if someone wants to why not give them a ring?
