N53 (DI) has same problem with fuel pump as 335i

My car suddenly lost power and warning light came up – full power no longer available. Mechanic at BMW knew right away that it’s the high pressure fuel pump. It turned up that the N53 engine has the same problem with the pump as N54 (335i). There are four different part numbers for the pump and all numbers are same for N53 and N54 engines.
So the reason for not importing N53 to the US isn’t the gasoline (I’m using only the 100 octane EU). It’s more likely that we are the guinea pigs since our warranty is only two years.

This time I was lucky, BMW replaced the pump under warranty.
BTW: They didn’t detect the PBX.
