Anyone try to get ZSP without leather?

I am finalizing my choices on the 535 Xdrive. I would love to get ZSP with 2TB, but the BMWUSA site forces you to choose leather with that option. I don't see it listed as a requirement in the ordering guide, but I imagine it is since it forces it on the BMW website. I have black leatherette in my 2000 328i and it has held up perfectly despite being attacked by 2 young kids. I have read many threads debating leather vs leatherette, and I know leather can be very durable if well cared for. Still, I would prefer leatherette if at all possible.

My question is, has anyone tried to get ZSP or Multicontour seats without upgrading to leather? Somehow I always seem to want a configuration that isn't allowed!

I had the sales associate check with BMW NA, and no surprise, the answer is no to leatherette with ZSP.

I had originally looked into getting leatherette as well. I had leather in my e46 M3 and it cracked. So I wanted something that would nice many years later. I can't speak long term for the F10, but I do like the dakota leather a lot better than the leather I had in my M3. It is softer and textured. I think it will hold up well. So I wouldn't sweat it if you have to get leather. It will help your resale value as well. I also highly recommend the multi-contour seats!!!

It's because of the multiple-contour seats, which are part (all, really) of the ZSP. Not clear to me why else one would want ZSP, except maybe because it is required for 2TB and ZDH.

Yep, I was thinking of it because it is required for 2TB.

my dakota on the 335i was practically new after 3 years. I cleaned with bmw branded cleaner once every 6 months. car was parked at indoor garages 90% of the time though.
