335i odd clutch sticking

Hi,

I've only had my 335i 6MT for a few weeks now but I'm noticing an odd feeling when using the clutch. If I disengage (press clutch down) all the way to the floor, it "sticks" on the way back up.

While the sticking isn't enough to keep the clutch down on its own, it's still quite annoying to try to get a smooth engagement since the release action isn't uniform throughout the stroke.

Is this normal behavior or should I get this sucker checked out?

I had a problem with the clutch sticking on the way up, I then realized it was getting caught on my all season mats.

Is it the clutch pedal itself sticking, or just the disengagement of the clutch? There is a clutch delay valve which causes the disengagement to not be very abrupt in an effort to save wear on the drive shaft. The CDV can be removed or modified.

Yup, my bet is that you're having your first bad experience with the CDV of doom.

My money is on the mat. All-season or carpet, sometimes they get in the way of the clutch. Slide it forward a bit more.

floor mat too over here - just take the mat off its velcro fasteners and move it up until the "sticking" stops. I'd remove the CDV valve too if I were you.

Yup, it was the all weather mats. however, I noticed that the instructions for the all weather mat holders don't apply to the 335i as I couldn't find any place to mount the "hooks".

Anyone else have a 335i and the all-weather mats? It'd be a PITA to have to constantly readjust the mat!

Yep got them here & I just remember to fix them once in a while, as the one tart at the dealership tried to install the hooks that come with it.

The problem is the holder that comes with the summer mats is a screw (plastic); the rubber mat hooks are a T-Top type insert & twist to secure.

So guess what tart tells me it does not matter and proceeds to insert ... Guess what else nowhere to really screw and was holding onto my carpet... come to take it out he almost ripped my carpet.

So I took it out myself slowly and told them to keep their stupid hooks until BMW design a proper hook that screws in just like the summer mat holders.

P.S.: If any one finds the right part number or the proper hooks ... PM me the part number
