quad exhaust vs. ikon
i currently have a ikon exhaust with resonator delete and am wondering if a quad exhaust adds more power with the added airflow?

no, and i doubt you can even run a true dual / quad. i'd imagine it'd be a fake 2nd set of tips that comes out from the side of muffler.

would probably be too much back pressure lost... and with your set up, you wouldnt be able to anyways, unless you did the fake tips as stated above. which is just bad looking.
remus makes the quad set up, but thats even quieter than what you have now.

fake tips don't belong on a bimmer. save it for the dual exhaust civics!

you can run a true dual exhaust in these cars, but it requires coming fromt he midpipes back and would need 2 new mufflers and a new floor if you have an e90. with your Ikon, it would be a Frankenstein modification and would not flow correctly. basically you would have more exhaust coming out of the driver side pipe then the passenger due to the way its made and the way the piping runs. |

This is my Remus Quad setup with AC Schnitzer tips. It may have more exhaust coming from the shorter pipe but it’s not noticeable.

Whatever you do, I personally wouldn't do any kind of muffler deleting because you lose too much back-pressure. And losing back-pressure means that you're going to lose the low-end power, which i find more important than the higher-end power

Doing a quad setup with the Remus is fine... not very loud, and definitely doesn't drone (even if you remove the resonator). I have that done on mine and I think it's fine.

If you go with a "meant to be" setup your OK, I still think its more weight then needed and doesnt suit the N52 :/
Just my personal feelings, I like the single sided double tips |

Youre not going to get real power from an exhaust in these cars, the headers really do it.
Otherwise your spending the same money on the new mufflers, install and diffuser for the bumper. Its the same money either way, 1 looks good and 1 actually performs - the choice is yours |

Ya, check it out:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=422073 I want to dyno on a dynojet just for fun to see where they both stack up in comparison to each other. I know the dynomax reads the lowest, and dynojet is the highest so it would be fun to see the difference between the 2. |
