it is a much more stable gas, that holds the pressure better and isn't subject to pressure changes due to temperature. fyi, they use it in all the racing clients i believe (such as f1)

I've never had an issue with them plus I am bias because I used to be an assistant manager at DTC before my current job. Just tell them to be very careful.

DT in Bellevue is great. Look into getting them to price match with tirerack.

I can't speak for up North, but the store down in Tacoma did a good job mounting my tires.. No scratches or dings, can't complain. I love how they pricematch online competitors.. I got my hankooks for like $700.

Is it approved to be used on normal street tires though? What about RFT?

That reminds me... I need to get a mobility kit, I'm afraid I'm going to get a flat and will have to tow the car.. To the guys that have aftermarket tires, how's your experience with mobility kits/ flat fixers?

10+ years of driving, never really feel the need of it. if it goes flat, i just drive down put some air, get right down to tireshop for replacement

I beleive the Nissan GTR comes with Nitrogen instead of air, so I am going to say yes, is ok to use on street tires.

oh yes, basically what i mean by that comment is that if it is used instead of air in cup cars and other tires, that it will be better than air. it is actually preferred to use nitrogen over air

I bought my tires from a Discount Tire in Tacoma. No dings, scratches or complaints. Had them pricematch my Hankooks with The Tire Rack. They pricematch the shipped price though, so you end up paying tax on top of the Tire Rack's shipped price. However, I think they charge more to mount/balance tires not purchased from them so the final price ended up not bein much different. I believe they prorate the tire if you buy from them though so if you ever have any issues you won't have to pay full price to replace (or you can purchase their free replacement warranty).

They had good customer service too. I happened to get a sidewall puncture in one of my 18" tires while I was waiting for my 19" rims to ship and while DT was sending up the 19" tires from Cali. They said they would mount a tire on my 18 for free until I got my wheels/tires. After checking, they didn't have a tire around the shop that fit so that didn't work out, but I figured it was a good gesture in terms of customer service.

I've used the same approach as David. I have a small air inflator/compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter that I keep in my trunk and I just kept the tire inflated when I had a leak. Granted it was a hole in my RFT, not a standard tire, but I had to drive on it for 3 or 4 weeks before I could get it replaced and I wasn't trying to be the guinea pig for testing the durability of an RFT sidewall long after exceeding the rated distance you're suppose to drive on them.
