Lots of popping / small backfires with MD?

Hey all,

The only engine modifications that I've done to my car are muffler delete with magnaflow tips, afe cold air intake oiled, and BMS PBX.

I've noticed that the more I drive, the more the car pops when I let off the gas. It used to be normal popping when the car decelerates, but recently I've noticed some small backfires and way more popping. Should I start to worry?

Is it due to fouled plugs or dirty oil? (not sure about car engines, I ride dirtbikes haha).

Thanks

No dude, totally normal. I have lots of that when I let off the throttle and I frigging love it. Probably the favorite part of my MD. Also, the sound it makes after you take it up to high revs and then decelerate back through the range without changing gear. Probably not great for the engine but it sounds like a fighter plane lol.

I just feel like its getting kind of bad... It was normal for a week or so but recently it is really sputtering

What kind of mileage do you have on your car? I very seriously doubt you need plugs unless you've been driving the piss out of your car.

If you have a recording device of some kind, please record your car through the rev range so we can figure out if you need to get a shop involved for some engine work or if you need to go back to a stock exhaust so your ears don't cry.

The car only has about 32,000 miles on it. I am the second owner of it and have only put about 2,000 miles on it so far.

I'll try to record a video of how it sounds from inside the car this weekend..

My car must have been sold around the same time yours was because I have roughly the same mileage. You definitely should not have bad spark plugs at this point so the only thing I can think of at the moment is the MD is a little too much noise for you. If you had done the resonator delete it would have been even louder and more crazy when you let off the throttle.

I think you nailed it. MD is loud and aggressive. MD/RD is obnoxious imo.
