Seattle is closer for me so I end up going there a lot (and they have a sweet new showroom) and I have no complaints.

Seattle BMW is more friendly with mods.

I also buy/service @ Seattle. I used to service @ Bellevue when we first moved up 5 years ago, but I've been much happier since Seattle moved into their new place.

The SA I used to trust @ Bellevue (Al) is no longer there. So there's pretty much no reason to stick with them. For the record, Bellevue told me that I could get an X5M with a 3rd row seat. They insisted even after I asked 2 more subsequent times. I checked the online builder and couldn't find any info stating such. So I called Seattle and Tyke Carkonen said that there wasn't any 3rd row (correct), but he could also get one in for me in 1 week, when I was ready. We decided to pull the trigger on our current 335xi on NYE 2009 one week later. I'm now thinking of getting the X5 with mtech instead now because it has foglights and 3rd row, which the X5M doesn't.

Sorry to be so long winded, but I wanted to qualify my opinion. And Seattle's CPO showroom looks better than most dealer's new car showroom too!

Same here. I don't get where Bellevue gets such a bad rap. I've had nothing but great dealings with them. Besides, the coffee shack nearby (in the Wade's Gun Shop parking lot) has hot, scantily clad baristas! So I always stop there before getting to service.

I've used Dan Perry (he's done track days himself) and Dean Faciane. Dan and I have talked track days and various other topics. Dean was enamored with my Alcon brakes. I've had BMW Bellevue service my car with the AE exhaust and Alcon brakes on, and they weren't concerned. They even did the brake fluid flush service with the the Alcon's on, so I'd say they are pretty mod friendly. Well, at least with me.

I've had 3 oil changes done at BMW Bellevue (all low mileage annuals) and they collected Blackstone oil samples for me every time too with no hassles. They've also been much better in the recent past about appointments. My last visit, I called on a Wednesday and was able to get in for an oil change first thing Friday morning (waiting.)

I've only needed one service loaner, and they took care of me. I don't bother with service loaners if I can wait for the car.

well, scott, with your Heineken hookup, of course they will be friendly no man in right mind will say no to free 6 packs, right? c'mon

i think it comes down to the relationship with SA, and more importantly tech. if you know them well enough, they will treat you right but when you are 18, 19 years old kids showing up on service bay with modified bmw, they are more alarmed...

What service would that be Johnny? With so few miles on your M3, you are barely past the 1200 mile break in service!

ok, call me a moron (my wife does often), but how bad is it for the dealer to wash? i'm pretty sure it's better than most automatic drive-thru car washes. definitely not as good as hand washing by detailer or yourself obviously. but what if you really don't have the time/energy and want a clean car? is a touchless car wash or dealer better? i'm only asking since you brought this up - maybe you have a better suggestion. fwiw, i haven't been able to find an automatic touchless carwash on the east side. i've tried.

how bad is it for the dealer to wash? Well, Bellevue washed my jet black 328i when I asked them not to and it looked like they used a motorhome brush.... Heavy scratches all over and the passenger door had a few that went through the paint.
This was for a visit that was the techs fault too... I'd take it in for the oil change and a dude had not reconnected the batter all the way... I had weird fluctuation in my dash/gauge lights and took it back in. Took them 3 days to figure out the problem.

Of course, i can't say all my experiences at Seattle have been great either I'm mostly ambivalent about both my SA's. I think they have some really good techs at Seattle but also their share of just okay ones. I do have to say they have been responsive the couple times we had to escalate issues.

if you guys need some referals on techs, contact parker@broadstrokeassociate. several techs at bmw seattle and bellevue works for or helps out parker and it is great source to make some cool tech friends who actually can work on your car at the dealer.

Service in Seattle

Get parts (that are not online) in Bellevue. Bellevue always has more parts in stock.
