Angry afe intake 2011 328i

i recently purchased a afe intake and loved it for a good amount of time till i got a service engine light. I thought the intake did it so i removed it by a professional shop and bmw fixed the software. What i am mad about is the intake takes a lot of power away torque wise and a little hp. It sounds very good but i just dont like it anymore. Anyone else realize this? If you are looking at an afe intake i suggest not to get one seriously.

there was a post awhile back about people installing their afe intakes wrong. You have to make sure the hole the tubing is connected to is a flush circle or else it will block partial air from entering the tube.

wow, that's bullshit!
i'm guessing you have your car back but is it back to 'normal' hp/tq wise?

What do your mean BMW fixed the software? Did you mean remove the SES light? If it was the AFE intake that caused the light, then removing the problem would make the light disappear on its own.

I'm calling BS on this one...I've had an AFE on my E92 335i for over 2 years, and it has never caused any problems nor has it reduced engine power in any way. I leave it on during service visits, including when I had my HPFP replaced. I also had one on my 2003 330iZHP with no ill effects. I suspect it's a "user problem".
