16" rims on e90 Sport Package?

I was wondering if I can mount 4 stock 16" rims on my 2006 325i with Sport Package? What tire size would I need to get? Thanks.

Yes, you can fit OEM 16" wheels on the 325i and 328i. Tire size is 205/55/16.

Thanks for your feedback

I was thinking that 16 inch rims and wheels might provide a smoother ride, be less likely to damage a rim than 17" on a pothole and the tire tread might last longer. Maybe there is not enough of a diifference in these factors with the change? Any opinions would be appreciated.

Yes, you are correct. The extra sidewall height does offer a softer ride and more protection from rough road/pothole damage.
