Just had a spirited drive with an A6

On my way back after dropping my g/f off at work I'm sitting at the light to get on the Shoreway here in Cleveland(pull up a map, it's a 4 mile stretch of nice curves on a wanna be nicely paved highway RT.2 heading west from downtown), anyways I can tell the A6 was game that way he was pulling up on my bumper and racing up to the light behind me.

Well we both hop on the ramp and let the fun begin. Kept a constant speed of 80-90 thru some very nice sweeping curves/bends and the grand finale is a REALLY nice S curve right before the road straightens out to the end. The A6 was having a hard time keeping up. As the 3er stuck to all the turns, I could see him fading out further into the turns to try and keep up with my pace. When it came to the S he was toast! I know I can keep upwards of 85 on a dry day through the turn, and he had nothing on me. I was pretty proud of the 325 for sticking up for itself. Overall it was a great way to start my morning!

Have a good day everyone!

Good Job darkcloud.

I have MUCH fun out here in Heidelberg, Germany with the Audi A4 and A6's too. The A6 3.0 is a heavier vehicle and no where near as nimble as the 3 Series. With a combination of DSC and lighter weight (partly due to that magnesium engine we boast), The A6 driver always seems to think he will just blow us away, and it is a big surprise when you simply just fly past him. I once took on the new A4 Turbo in Cologne one time...that was fun! He gunned it from the light and had a momentary lead on me for about half a mile...but turbo on a 4 cylinder just don't last forever...plus that turbo lag caught up to him as I SCREAMED by him!...that was cool!

A lot also depends on the driver too. Some drivers have a combination of more experience at high speeds and handling than I do...and some drivers are reckless assholes with a deathwish. There are times I have had a VW Golf Sport get the better of me...but understand it was POURING rain and he was very reckless....pick your battles....sometimes it is not worth your car or life to prove a point. The way I look at it is this way...There will be another day to thoroughly embarrass this asshole when the conditions are right...and my wisdom and backing down will GIVE me that other day...instead of all my days ending horrifically right here on this slick stretch of highway.

Anyway....WOOHOO.......BMW 1 : AUDI 0:rocks:

Plus *all* Audis have their engine in front of the front axle line. They understeer like crazy. You can balance most of the mid-high speed understeer out with an upgraded rear sway bar, but low speed corners there's just no way to get around the physics.
