BMW offering me HKD15400 with 50% NCD. My existing insurance is quoting me HKD17000 with 40% NCD. Online insurers gave me quotes of HKD12800-13800 with 40% NCD. All these quotes are with different deductibles so not directly comparable.

The thing that i liked about BMW one is that there are no surchange on adding named drivers and the NCD protector is up to HKD100K, and the deductibles are really low. But premium is a bit higher......

PS. Insured value is approx. HKD1.1m

i may go with BMW as well. Don't particularly trust the underwriters from the online ins brokers. I liked my existing insurer (fast claim, very little fuss when it really counted) so will see if they can match......

guys, you may try insurance from autotxll (the tunnel auto pay company). they offer very competitive deal. I used them for my existing car. very cheap and good service

A bit hesitant to try Autotoll ins. broker. Who is their ultimate underwriter?

guys, any comment on the following quote?

underwriter: Liberty Int'l
insured value: 623k
60%NCD
Indicative premium: 5.9k

I remember I was quoted over 10k at BMW dealer (the agent said BMW has the best insurance deal) and this is much cheaper. Do all you guys use BMW insurance?

I just quoted on Ping An insurance online and they are quoting ~$5100 for your parameters.....

Having said that, kinda difficult to compare no knowing Liberty's deductibles.
I remember that Liberty has pretty high deductibles and the BMW (Allianz) has very low deductibles, plus a higher NCD protector......

Thanks, mlai. Liberty's details are as follows:

General-Own Damage HKD 3,000
Young Driver HKD 3,000
Inexperience Driver HKD 3,000
Unnamed Driver HKD 3,000
Theft HKD 5,000
Third Party Property Damage HKD 0
No claim Discounts Protection- HK$60,000 or 15% of sum insured whichever is the less

Do you think this is fair?

there's an added advantage on bmw.

if you get a chip on the windscreen, u pay a small amt and they replace it with a brand new one.

and the claims part is very efficient, at least from my prior exp.

That's good. I will hammer BMW with Liberty's quote then. Thank you for your advice, ksquare and mlai

They usually quote u a high price. If u are able to get a more competitive deal outside they will try to match.
