Shifting to Third the clutch just didn't come back up...
07 335i 6spd
I am looking for some help... I was driving on friday. I hit the gas in second gear to pull around a semi. I went to about 6000 rpms and proceeded to shift to third. Off the gas--depress clutch to floor-- shift to third--and give it gas as i lift my left leg... BUT the clutch pedal doesnt come back up off the floor... I coast to the shoulder and pull the pedal up with my hand. If i putthe clutch to the floor all theway I can get the car into gear and if i let off the clutch pedal it comes up minimally but the clutch begins to engage but will not fully engage. Im thinking its the clutch master cylinder.. any thoughts? |

U really need a clutch line mod in a manual if ur goin to drive it hard, I managed to weld my clutch to my flywheel by doin a few donuts all because of that stupid little valve.

is there a point when you can engage the clutch by hand, and then disengage it (pushing in) .... what type of travel do you get with pressure applied ?? 1/2 - 3/4 or near the floor? if it starts the disengage closer to the floor then i wouldnt condemn the T/O cuz is sliding freely for a significant distance.. but i have seen a few stuck T/O bearing through the years, so you may dodge the bullet |

Clutch dropped to floor normally means a clutch hydraulic leak or air in the hydraulic lines. Check reservoir, master, and slave for leaks. The only thing that doesn't make sense is you stated that clutch would not fully engage. If there were a hydraulic problem you would have difficulty making clutch DISENGAGE.

Ok so I got the car back from the dealer this morning and we were all wrong. Apparently the person who owned this car before me either raced the car or didn't know how to drive it. The clutch disc was apparently almost completely disintegrated and separated. The dealer replaced just the clutch disc. So weird IMHO
