E90/92 Sport suspension VS M-sport suspension

Hi, does anyone know if there is a difference with M-sport suspension VS sport suspension on the E90/E92? And is it more than just lowering of the car by 15mm? Is it going to be really noticeable?

At least on the E90 it's a $600 option "sport suspension"..but then they mention as a further option an M-sport package that includes "M-sport suspension"

As far as I know the m suspension is stiffer with ticker swaybars, but lower the same 15 mm.

it's just a stiffer ride i think

MAIN difference is stiffer ride but is also a better ride for great rightangle cornering

According to my dealer the 335i/d allready have the M-sports suspension as standard.

well the e92 335 has standard sport suspension however if you buy the e90 335 it is not standard. Its a option. BTW this is Australian section, there are differences to what our cars have standard to what Belgium has

I've got a 320 with sports suspension and a friend has the identical car with 16" wheels and no sports.

Sports is great for handling but makes for a jarry ride on Sydney's bad roads.

The 17" wheels are less comfortable still and the 255 rears do tramline quite badly. I had 18" wheels and M sport a few years back on a 325Ci and they felt very harsh.

All depends on what you're used to. I got used to an STi's suspension/ride so ANY bimmer was a luxury after that :-)

Dealer is clueless, he didnt even know if the 335i demo car they had was with 226 or 704. Anyway, I went ahead and test drove the 335i they had (it probably has 226 since its pre-march), although the car was fitted with 230 alloys (19 inchers) it felt stiff but not crashy. My 335d will come with the 17 inch 188.

I m kinda freaked out, dealer says he can delete 704 but I m not sure if thats a good idea with a car that has 580Nm and 286hp, I may actually need it.

So, if any of you guys really know the differences between sports and M-sports, I too would appreciate your comments. I dont want a car thats uber-stiff or crashy, and wanna make it down my steep driveway without scratching.

I have M suspension and recently upsize to 19" wheels (see http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45188).

I have given up the runflat tyres and went for KUMHO SPT 235/35/19 front & 265/30/19 rear. Driving out of the tyre shop immediately I can tell the ride is much smoother than before, better throttle response and shorter braking distance. The combo of lightweight wheels + non-runflats work very well with M suspension.
