Places to eat in Vancouver?
Heading to Vancouver tomorrow for business/vacation. Any recommendations on where to eat? I'm particularly interested in a good brunch joint with a nice patio or Japanese restaurants or izakayas.
NO Chinese food recommendations please. Thanks! Last edited by AP2; 09-08-2010 at 01:43 PM.. |

Guu is pretty good, and hapa izakaya, both of them are located on Robson street. Just walk up and down Robson street, lots of Japanese and Korean cuisines. Ramen too

X1000 to Gothams, Tojo, and Blue Water.
I tried Coast recently and walked out very impressed with both food and service. They're located on Alberni Street. |

Italian Kitchen, Coast, Tropika, Gothams, Tojo, Chops, Guu (Robson/Thurlow), Nan Chuu, Joe Fortes/Rodneys if you like Oysters, etc, too much to list, but those are my usual visits.

not sure if tojo's is open for lunch but I like Ajisai,
It is located next to the London's Drugs in Kerrisdale (42nd and East Boulevard) across from a doctors office. |

Tastes not bad but I like Lambardo@Commercial & 1st more...however Italian Kitchen will be a better place for partying, more high class.

Italian Kitchen is awesome. My favourite is the Pesto Fusilli with wild mushrooms. It is not on the menu anymore but they still make it for me (substitute the noodles with something they have). The price and portion size are just right for me. If you like huge portions, you're better off going to Anton's in north Burnaby, tastes not as good though.
+1 on db bistro and Hy's steak and lobster |
