How can you tell if e90 has sports suspension?

Hi,

I'm looking at another possible car to buy this week (not from a dealer). I can tell from the pictures some of the options (it has sports seats and sports steering wheel, no aero package) it has but not others.

How can I tell if a 2006 325 has sports suspension or not when I view the car in person? It should be lowered by 15mm, so should I measure the height from the ground to... the jacking point or which other part of the car? And how high would it be? The car has type 160 wheels. I assume that with RFTs, the tyre pressure won't make much of a difference in height.

Are there any ways of checking? Does the suspension assembly look any different to the non-sport?

Oh, (my memory is fuzzy) is there an options code under the back seats or something?

Well, if it is not an AWD car, and has sports seats, it likely has sport suspension (as part of the ZSP sport package).

18" rims are usually a good indicator but the sport seats are exclusively for sport package equipped cars.

In Australia we don't have the ZSP, just the MSport package (what they call the ZMP in the US?) which also has the aero/cosmetic package. This vehicle doesn't have that. But it does have sports seats and sport steering, as if they were individually added options. The alloys are 17" non-standard as well, but still different from the 17" ZMP alloys.

I would have thought people would go for seats/steering/suspension, and this has two but I can't figure out the suspension. It is not x-drive.

How high off the ground would a rear drive e90 NA engine be without sports suspension?

if the car is equipped with sport steering wheel / sport seats / zsp wheels on....
it is probably a sport suspension as well.
