Does your car sit lower on one side?
I found my car sits lower on the right/drivers side by about 6-7mm, and another member has also had this problem. Do you have this on your car?
Here is a possible explanation and fix: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=812381 1. BMW puts different thickness pads on the spring 5,10,15mm on the left/right to compensate for the weight of the driver, which in germany would sit on the left. 2.So for those of us who are RHD where the bias is not helping, all we have to do is reverse the pads on either side, and problem solved!? -we have the correct bias ..? |

hi juztinl
within tolerance, but if they are all like that, is there a reason? if you're going to change your springs/shocks you could check this out at the same time, see if the pads are different thickness, if they are -that would be it, u could fix it easily |

My new F10 is perfectly level, but I'll check it on a slope to see if there's any difference and let you know within the next day or so. |

According to BMWHK, that's due the the fuel tank being fitted towards the right hand side. There was a suspension bias to compensate this on the LHD but not that they know of on the RHD. Anything within 10mm difference is acceptable and nothing to worry about.
I had put the car on stand before, but did not find any spacers of pads. On full tank, the difference is minimal, but near empty, my raise to about 10mm. Hope this helps. |

hi jonD
the thread I quoted from was from a while ago and mainly personal experiences with the E46 .. so no idea if it still applies to current models kfiend i mean did u look at the thickness of the pads? they may be different on L/R .. i havent looked at it so im just speculating, im going to check it out when i change my springs+dampers, but that may be a while ... if i could reverse the bias the other way I would be less annoyed |

Checked my new F10 today and, as per my earlier statement about the E92, it is very much surface dependent.
When parked on a lateral incline, even just a few degrees, the car will noticeably lean towards the lower point. It's called gravity and Isaac Newton is the fellow to blame . Park the car on a perfectly level surface, then take your measurements. |
