Powdercoated Rims Before and After Pictures
powder coated matte black for $90, just have to get it balanced... I suggested a shop a while ago, but people were skeptical of the price... Checkers auto detailing in south jersey... Thought I'd share the results...
Before: After: Before: After Edit: $90 per rim... Last edited by E90 87ss; 09-29-2010 at 07:57 PM.. |

I have a shop in central NJ (Maplewood) that's doing mine right now... $75 a wheel for matte black, and $100 a wheel for a clear coated color (i.e. silver, grey, gloss black, ect)....
PM me for their info... Will post all pictures when I pick them up this weekend... |

Just got 4 19" VMR VB3's fixed from curbage, and color changed from hyper black (chrome looking finish) to Maserati metallic titanium, which is very close to my space grey....with the tires still on btw.....for $120 per wheel....with a guarantee on the finish for 2 years, and free touch ups. From an alloy wheel repair specialist that came to my house!!!!!!!!!!! This guy is amazing....
I will try and post pics, having computer issues rt now... |

Oh yeah, forgot to mention....the whole reason I had them painted was that I used a Maguires wheel cleaner on the wheels (recommended by a detailer for hyper black finishes) and it ate into the finish. So I opted to paint them with this guy....he previously refinished my G37s wheels and my uncles Caddy SRX wheels.....Open Road BMW only uses this guy too....amazing color choices and rediculously clean work.....

There is no way a good powder coating with a mount and balance would have been cheaper....no way. Not to mention taking the chance of effin up a low profile tires bead by dismounting a tire then remounting??? hell no.....IMO cant go wrong with paint and this company. Dude came to my house 2 times!!!!! one to do the initial inspection, then today to do the job, im my driveway!!!! inside his self contained spraybooth and repair shop.....super-legit not saying powder-coating is not a great option......I will sell this car and/or these wheels soon so whatever....This was the best way to go.
