Tie rod

Hello guys.

Does anyone experience a creaky sound when turning the wheels?

It appears for me only when i'm turning left, i have tried to locate the sound, but it's very difficult cause it's propagate in the rack system.

I have changed my M-sport suspension to coilovers, i'm very satisfied with that, but one day my left front wheel slides in to full camber as the nut's to tighten the strut top bearing got loose. The coilovers has camber adjustment.

Could that course a defect tie rod and therfore making that creaky sound?

There are no other sounds at all.

I have resently got a wheel alignment, but the sound is still there.

The car has 40000 km on the clock.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Torben.

Sounds like your upper strut bearing and plate/mount making the noise.

Yep. Could be a worn bearing in the camber plate.

Yeah my first suspicion was the bearing in the camber plate, but the sound does not seems to come from that area at all, it seems to come from the wheel area and if the bearing was worn, wouldn't the sound appears when i'm turning the wheels in both directions? and not just to the left!?

Thanks for your comments guys.

check your power rack bolts, if you have downpipes they rack may not have been tightened enough allowing the very small movement of the whole rack when the wheels are turned

Yes it has cross my mind, i can't see any movement when turning the wheels and the sound is allmost equally high on both wheels, so it could come from the rack.

I have to ask what downpipes are?

I'll check it out a.s.a.p

Thanks

Torben

I have the same issue. I have Dinan stage 3 and they use the stock upper shock mounts. I also have 143k mi on my car so I expect some bushings to a little worn.
