Wheel Question
Alright....I don't really understand wheel offsets. So I have a question.
Can I put 19" BMW wheels (Style 95) from a 745i as replacements for my F10 528i 17" wheels (Style 327)? The Style 95 has an ET of 24. The Style 327 has an ET of 30. The bolt patterns are the same. Would I need a spacer on the 19"? What size tires are best for this combination? Thanks |

If you put a spacer on your 19 inch it will reduce your offsett even more.
The more the offset differs from the original the suspension was designed for, the more forces will work on the wheel, will worsen the already poor steering on the F10. Its like skating on rollerblades where the wheels are not in-center on your shoe if you understand the picture. Will be pretty unstable. |

Yes, I now understand a spacer would make the offset worse, but would this setup work without a spacer? Would a 19x9 front and 19x10 rear (et 24 for both front and rear) wheel fit on the F10?

check out ac-schnitzer.de and racing-dynamics.net. Thats the lowest offsets I have seen to the F10. For 9 inch they have ET 27 in front and for the ten inch about 40 in the rear as far as I can remember, but havent been on their site for a while.

I think spacers are bad for the suspension, the thicker the spacers you put on, the more stress you put onto the wheel hub & suspension. However, it does look good (cosmetically) as the wheel is push out to be flush with the fender.
