Drag Strip Newb. Check It!!

So I decided to go to Cecil Co. Drags this morning with some Corvette owners I know for a little Test and Tune. I have never raced the 335i and haven't been on a dragstrip fo 25 years. I figured with just my JB3 I would be happy with a low 13 since I have no ide a how to launch it properly

Did one run and came out grinning. I almost jumped out of the car and hugged the ticket lady when given the time.

My only mod is a JB3 running Map 5. I had 3/4 tank of 93, RFTs at 40lbs, oh and I left DCT on - too much adrenaline. In the trunk was a bunch of junk. I wiegh about 200lbs.

What d'ya think?

not bad man, cool to have a 12 second car

Next time go with way less fuel and drop some weight out of that trunk... You are sure to be quicker.

wow that's fast for a tune only, especially on RFTs.

great job boss, but get supporting mods with that tune as to not put excessive stress on your car.

considering cecil's the east coast's version of Sac Raceway, i'd say that's average. nice 60ft though.

Nice job! Cecil is close to me but I have never been there. I can't ever find anyone else that wants to go.

That's a nice 60' for RFTs and a good time, even for Cecil (known to be faster than, say, Englishtown).

I went around the water, staged, did a brake stand to about 2200RPM maybe - not sure...it all happened so fast. I had it in DS with DCT on i.e. in its default state. I let the car shift.

The dude in the next lane was in a Camaro of some kind. He jumped out about 3 car lengths - quicker reaction I guess but that was it - he couldn't pull and I couldn't catch him. You can see we trapped the same speed basically.

It was fun. Saw some pro street cars doing 8's and 9's.

What's the scoop on Cecil then? Is it considered a fast track? As I said, I'm a newb.

Probably no more mods for now. Just bought a 2011 VW GTi with DSG so I plan to wake that engine up a bit first since it's my DD.
