ER charge pipe leak?

Just wondering I checked all my connections and they were all tight. Yet I still have a boost leak. Could the er charge pipe be leaking near the throttle body.there is oil residue there and its only a flange. Was thinking about buying a coupler and trying to seal it..

Mine has been on for over a year, works perfectly fine. Just check your connection at the throttle body. The oil is blow-by, it's perfectly normal, just get an OCC to reduce it.

Did you transfer the "O" ring from the stock charge pipe to the ER one?

What makes you think you're leaking boost? Limps, gauges etc? pressure test it if you're unsure still, unless it's obvious you fixed it like going from limp to no limp above a certain rpm.

Some people do pressure tests by using an air compressor. Or if you had a boost gauge and you're not hitting 8.8PSI (stock) then you're having a leak. If you get JB4 you can turn your fuel gauge into a boost gauge, it's awesome. For me...i'm supposed to be hitting around 14-15 PSI but i'm only getting about 10 which is telling me i'm having a leak.

Maybe i just didn't push in the CP enough. My pipe wiggles a little bit if i push up/down on it. I have the O-Ring installed plus I was able to install that metal clip that attaches to the throttle body.

O-Ring. He said it up top in a previous post. haha. Technically an O-Ring is the same as a gasket though.

When the CP on correctly it Should NOT wiggle, move or anything at all not even a hair! It should be tight as the stock one!! If it moves then get in there take ur time and get it right!! Is a bit tricky but be patient with it. If and it is put ur stock one back on and try that to make sure it is ur CP

There's really not much more you can do though. It's just a metal clip at the throttle body taht holds it in place, not like you can make it looser or tighter.

Yeah I understand wa u mean! But is hard to explain!! But when instal correctly there's no movement at all! So look at urs and see if it wiggles or moves even a hair!! If so then that's y u have a leak! Push it until u get it on the right spot!

Check also if u have oil inside of the CP due to blow by! And clean the O-ring good! Try that!

Cool. Thanks for the response. I was guessing it was that but i wasn't too sure how the fitment was supposed to be in the first place. As long as i got that clip in there I thought i'd be good to go. Don't even remember how the stock CP was fit on there because all I cared about was trying to pull that thing off. lol

My ER charge pipe wiggles a tiny bit. (Only when forced by hand) Boost is 18psi no leaks. Make sure you have the O-ring installed, metal clip in, & have the 1 nut tight and your good.

I've got some play on my charge pipe and all seems fine (or so I thought)

I also have a JB4 so going to test boost on petrol gauge. However how do you know that you could be under boosting? Ie how does psi relate on the fuel gauge?, where on the fuel gauge is say 10 psi ?

Cheers

1/4 tank= 5psi 1/2 tank = 10psi 3/4 tank =15psi full tank=20psi do a log and you can tell if you have a leak. (Target boost vs actual boost)
