******** hard shift leaking boost.

Ive been getting on the car alot since the install and it hold up well unless i start to get really aggressive.

I dont lose all boost but i do here an abnormally loud hissing noise and the car does not pull as strong as its supposed to.

When i got the BOV the nut that sits on top was just halfway on the threads,but i hand tightened it all the way down. Should i tighten it more. Any other suggestions?

Running map7,DCI,40 degree nights

The bov is crap. Replace it.

Iam mored scared of a leak at the throttle body. Plus i love the sound of the ******** BOV....I really hope that its some kind of small problem. Or else greddy here i come.

unscrew the the nut then screw the bolt (rod) more down into the valve. there is a hex head on top of the bolt (rod). it should compress the spring inside more to create a better seal.

You guys are taking quite a risk by messing with the internals of the BOV. If there are not interchangable parts, then I do suggest you just get a new BOV.

well for all i know it could be leaking somewhere else. Iall be adjusting the screw as a last resort.

The funny thing is it only happens to me every 1of5 wot pulls or so.

dude i would just replace that BOV, its pretty crappy. ive heard nothing but problems about it. i have a friend that had installed in his car and used to get fucked up all the time.

The bolt (rod) on the top is for adjusting the hardness of the spring. its just like the greddy valve with the softness to hardness levels on the top. the nut locks the position in place. I have adjusted my bov like this and it works perfectly.

well i adjusted the bolt just now 3 turns clockwise, Right off the bat i noticed how more responsive boost was.

I then did a WOT in 2nd gear and it was holding boost great until i popped 3rd and it kinda sounds like if one of my dv's popped off that whoooshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound.

So i cant think of boost leaking anywhere else then the BOV itself. I came back home looked at my BOV and i forgot to fasten the nut on the rod all the way tight. So iall see if maybe that was the problem.

thats good. the nut on top is what keeps that rod from moving around. hopefully you get your problem all fixed.
