Procede top end boost taper for 6at

I don't know much about it but I keep on hearing about the boost taper on the automatics with procede ? Does that mean jb3 top end is stronger ?

Where do you hear about this top end boost taper? In the current maps, there is no boost taper until 6500rpm. Which is above the shift point you would use for maximum acceleration. You see substantially more taper with the jb3. Unless you pull out your soldering iron and install new resistor ballasts.

Hmmm. There were some comments about this on a certain other forum just now. That wouldn't happen to be where you picked this up would it?

I drive a 6AT 335i with the Procede's newest maps installed, and I experience almost no taper. I really don't feel like it pushes any less at redline than at 4000 rpm for instance. From what I have heard, the JB3 tapers more than the Procede.

At the end of the day, if I were you, I'd either buy a Procede or wait for the new BMS G4 board to be released (JB3 update). No point spending a bunch of money on technology that will immediately be outdated...

My 6mt tapers 1 - 1.5 psi from peak. I can't imagine the 6at being much different. Like Shiv said, you shouldn't be shifting anywhere near redline anyway.

You want to land around 5000 rpm post shift. Shift too late you're outside of the powerband post shift.

Lol I did buy the procede because so many people switched from jb to procede and told me that I'm going to love it, but I love high speed runs and I would get dissapointed if my car got slower, PS waiting on it and couple of other goodies =]

Iwantm3 - I typically shift between 6200rpm and 6500rpm. I'm not too slow and i'm using the older public firmware and maps (haven't had a chance to update them yet).

Depends on mods but, for a mostly stock car, around 6000rpm. Maybe 6200-6300rpm for a fully modded car with stock turbos.

It's sad that the engine will rev to 7, but that you'll never actually bring it that high...

Off Topic here Shiv, but did I read your "Drives" right?

V5? *italian choir begins singing*...

lol. Just as BMS releases the G4, Procede moves to the V5.

stock charge pipe / DVs works just fine for me. I had Forge DVs and sold them because I didn't see the need. Save your money unless you have issues with the DV's leaking or charge pipe blowing off.
