Weird horn sound @ WOT?
As some of you may know, I finally pulled the trigger and got myself the PROcede and installed it over the weekend.
It has been raining so I haven't really been able feel the PROcede experience, but last night.. I was in third at WOT, I hear this weird horn sound go off.. and there was nobody around me (I was the only one on the road) and I was confused. Anyone had this problem before? The only thing I can think of is the intercooler clamps. I installed the IC with a friend and maybe there is a leak somewhere. Is that a valid assumption?

Were you able to replicate the issue? If so, can you record a video if possible?

Yes, the sound can be replicated. I'll try to take a video tonight. Anyone else have this issue before?
edit. Posted in the Modification section as well for more feedback.

Your first guess about the boost leak is my first guess also. I had an issue like that right before my intercooler piping blew off completely. It was more of a whistle than a horn type noise though.

I called up Vishnu and they also believe it is probably a boost leak. I have an appointment at SoLo Thursday morning to get it checked out!

Have you taken out the procede and done some hard pulls to see if the sound is present without the tune? That would certainly be an indicator of a boost leak, even without raising the PSI. Best of luck, I am sure you/ Solo will figure it out, best of luck! Please keep us updated!

But as far as I can tell, the PROcede is very smooth. Seems like the throttle is more responsive and power is pretty instant. I still miss the little lag before the instant rush of power glues me into my seat in my STI. ...sometimes.

I was really just thinking that after you installed the procede you may have had the boost level too high or high enough to rupture the diverter valves or IC piping clamps, etc and if the sound was still there without the procede you could narrow the issues down a bit better. Can't wait to see hear your car. You liking the UUC Corsa exhaust? Its a great price and I tried to find someone locally to hear it in person before I got my AE, but couldn't.

I was looking into forged DV or possible a BOV. After reading through the Vishnu FAQ, they specifically stated that our car were not designed to use BOV and may cause the car to run poorly.. yet I see a lot of people on the forum using them with no problems..
The UUC exhaust sounds nice, quiet but yet aggressive.. the only thing I don't like about it combined with the PROcede is how I can no longer control my right foot..

Dropped by SoLo this morning and got my problem fixed. I had a loose connection with one of the hose for the intercooler. Benny and Boris are awesome people, very friendly and easy to get along with. I will be taking my car there for any future needs.
The car pulls like a freight train out of hell.. and I though it was quick with the leak..

The N55 is a MAF based system, which will run like crap if you vent metered air into the asmosphere. Short story on DV vs. BOV: N54: Pick your favorite. N55: DV only.

This is the response I got from Shiv:
"The info on the forum is actually for Evo and Subaru applications. With the n54, there is no MAF sensor so you can either bypass and blow off and get the same exact result. So it boils down to personal preference. Personally, i prefer bypassing it since blowing it off usually sprays the engine bay with a fine mist of oil." So I guess I can run either one. Do you think I would need one for 13-14psi?
