Thumbs up Highly Recommended: Autobahn Motor Works in Woodstock

Installed Bilstein PSS9 coilovers on my car and then got an alignment at Autobahn Motor Works today in Woodstock. It was worth the drive there!

Frank and Brian are very knowledgeable and meticulous. With other places quoting me over $300 for an active steering alignment, I was EXTREMELY satisfied with the price at Autobahn Motor Works which, based on my research, is the lowest in the Atlanta area.

They're also a full service facility and can do just about anything. I highly recommend them.

That's great to hear! It's kind of far from me, or I'd drop by to check it out. So how's the ride feel now?

Stiffer (I have it set to 4F/6R) but much smoother than stock. I don't know how that's even possible but the Bilstein dampers are amazing. I have some clunking from the rear but I think that's just the exhaust hitting stuff.

Kick arse D00d.
On their website it says that Brian is a certified welder... did you happen to have him fix the tips of your exhaust by chance? Just curious, I am starting to get used to seeing it stick out... it's not that bad IMO.

They're growing on me too. It would be too much trouble to shorten them because there's not a lot of space to do a clean job IMO. We'll see what happens when the AR DPs go on. Maybe the tips will retract a little.

Best looking pre-LCI E90.
Runs hard too, was losing traction with those fat 275s without the PROCede installed.
This dyno day is going to be full of surprises.

Whatever Eric... you say that so we don't feel too bad when the following week you put us to shame in the twisties that Steve knows about.

We'll be sitting at the first turn with one wheel spinning and you're gone.

December 11th, before the gathering @ SoLo I believe.

We had been planning a drive up the mountains with Scalbert for a while and Dec. 11th was the tentative date. Steve, are we still on for this? You said it's about an hour north from Woodstock... so perhaps we could plan on meeting in Woodstock around lunchtime and arrive @ SoLo by 5pm-ish?

Thanks Tony... it's probably better we keep a low count of M3s for these mountain run events as to preserve our egos... at least until we all get Nivedh's suspension and some LSDs.

And right in my back yard!!

I have met Brian and he has TIG welding abilities which I have tentatively planned on contracting. He was previously one of the head Tech's at Global and is now minutes from my house. With my warranty gone soon, he will certainly be getting my business. Needless to say, I am thrilled at having this shop nearby me.

The idea would be to head up Bells Ferry to Hwy 20 to 108. Hwy 108 is a fairly high speed sweeper with decent views. Once into Waleska we would make our way to onto 140 to some side roads and then over to 411. This is a boring 4 lane drive for about 15 miles. But then you hit Hwy 52 and head east through the Chattahoochee National Forest over Fort Mountain (burned up a set of pads in an Acura here, lost brakes for a moment which was harrowing). This then takes you back to 515/575. From there you can take multiple routes to SoLo. In fact, taking Hwy 53 and some back roads would be quite nice as you end up in Alpharetta.

I can do a route map and post it for download. But if this is agreeable, what meet time? Anyone can come by my house earlier if they want to or if they want to install some parts.

Yeah post it, I want to see it. I live in Canton, so I always get on 108. I have never gone to 411 though, so that'll be nice to know.

Go to Google Maps and search for Fort Mountain State Park, Chatsworth, GA or click the below link and look at Hwy 52. It is a nice drive and only thirty minutes from you.

None of your links worked for me, maybe it's the hotel I'm in. Here is a reverse angle going down the west side of Ft. Mountain, me and a buddy about a month ago.

By far the best driving road close to Canton I've been on. Haven't taken the car there but would like to.
