Dinan during CPO

Has anyone installed Dinan software after the 4 year 50 and the extended warranty is already purchased? I wonder how BMW reacts if one installs Dinan tune when in the 5th and 6th year of the 100k extended warranty period

The Dinan matches the original 4/50. BMW reacts the same, they do not support Dinan. You have no extended drivetrain warranty (or your extended warranty powertrain) gets voided when you install it since your vin gets flagged.

Are you 100% sure about this? Because it sounds way off

Their website is a little confusing on this, but BMW Seattle confirmed the minimum coverage is 2 years....since that is what they offer if your car has no remaining BMW warranty. So, bottom line, Dinan warranty is for the remainder of your orig BMW warranty or a minimum of 2 yrs, whichever is longer.

I do agree, however, that if I have a problem caused by Dinan after the 2 yrs is up, technically my CPO would not cover.
forgot that this was covered before

In others words, during orig 4yr/50k warranty, Dinan covers consequential damages. After 4/50 is up, Dinan only covers their parts.

I've called Dinan a couple times with this question and each person gave me a different answer. I would think the Dinan would void your CPO since the Dinan warranty is only effective during the original warranty.

This is not true at all. My dealership, Habberstad BMW, fully supports Dinan and says if I were to get my car chipped with Dinan products, my car will still retain it's original warranty as long as the installs are done by the dealership. Whether it's a CPO or new car, doesn't matter.

Next time I go to the dealership (this Tuesday), I'll make sure to take a picture of the Dinan logo they have on their front doors.

Word on the street is that BMW wont CPO a Dinan tuned car. Dinan will work with your original 50k warranty but anything after that they will only warranty their own parts, and nothing else.

Dinan CPO Info

Look at the 31_U_08. This is not recent news. If some dealers are honering it, they are taking the hit themselves, because BMW will not reimburse for the work done to a Dinan Vehicle past the original 50k/4 year covered by Dinan.

I don't think any dealer is paying to cover it out of their own pocket, they are just telling you what you want to hear now. When the time comes for them to cover it they will be singing a different tune.

I agree, I know a lot of people that work at BMW and they stopped covering warranty work some time ago. Thats the main reason I went "aftermarket"....and ofcourse I dont have to pay an arm and a leg for an intake that performs about the same as stock lol. Dont waste your money on Dinan, unless you have more $$ than you do sense.

no my dealership is not shitty. understand that Dinan covers the costs of the repairs not BMW. Dinan covers your 4/50 warranty. BMW used to cover the repairs but they no longer do.
