Audio Volume Level Indication

I just picked up my new 550i. I have been through the manual, but I do not see a visual indication of audio volume level. Am I missing a setting or does it not exist? Thanks!

There is no such indication. Haven't seen a volume indication in any BMW actually.

How do you pasue playback?
The standard (Volvo, Audi etc etc) of pressing the volume knob only mutes. Playback continues.

They probably reckon that your ears will give you an indication as to how loud the sound is .

That I wonder too. It was easier on my E61 where you could configure one of the steering wheel buttons to mute.

You pause playback by pressing the Mute button. That works for CDs and iPod/Flash drives. Radio will Mute but continue.

Unless of course you pause Sirius satellite radio... the car can store up to one hour (I think).
