2011 535i Winter Tire Setup w/ 17" Rial Salerno
Been searching and searching for a decent winter setup for my F10 535i and finally caved in and purchased the 17" package from tirerack. I thought I would share my info as when searching there was not a ton of info or pics to be had for the F10 and winter tires. Here are the specs:
17x8 Rial Salerno 29mm offset 245/50R-17 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 RFT Runflat BMW original center cap Here are a few pics. Sorry for the so so quality of the pics as these were taken with my iphone. Hope this helps any one else looking. I was really concerned that the 17" would not look all that good coming from the 19" sport wheels but they actually look very nice. I am happy with the out come and ready to do battle with winter. |

I have no where to store tires. I would really like to put snows on my 535xi for the winter here in NYC.

I ordered the same wheels but got the blizzak non RFT ws-70.
I don't know if I should order a spare or what. I didn't see the RFT blizzaks on tire rack. What are others who ordered non RFTs for their winter setup doing about a spare? |

Why TPMS? Can I use the on board tyres pressure reset mode? What is the difference in term of safety? Thanks

You have to have the TPMS in the new winter rims just like the stock rims to have the system work. It would be to much of a hassle to break down stock tires and rims just to reuse the stock TPMS. The actual cost for TPMS and the required valves was only $198.
