If anyone is seriously interested in headers for a 128i...please contact me ASAP.
I am currently working with a team building and running 2 128's in the Continental Tire Sports Car Endurance series. The team is investigating parts that can be built and offered as aftermarket parts. At this time I would not be able to guarantee price...but I can the quality. Cheers Dwnshift |

Guys I showed you a link! Replace the *********** with *********** spelled normal.
Wow they blocked both? It's [Admin Notified]. And to the mods here, this is ridiculous. I'm not saying one site is better. I'M TRYING to help a user!!!!! They gained about 15WHP and torque throughout the curve. |

Thanks for the response back!
As I am brand new to the forum...I just noticed I cannot get PM's until after 5 postings....gotta do some more surfing I guess. The roll cage and full exhuast have all been done in house..and the shop has an autoclave , paint booth and a couple CNC machines. Anything (parts)...is a possibilty.....carbon, Al. or steel As mentioned before ...the team is looking at producing some of the same parts it will use on the 128 race cars...and sell to enthusiasts. Having been involved in "aftermarket parts" business myself...I am fully aware that HP parts seem to be in the fastest movers. The headers would definetly be considered "offroad" use only. I have also dropped the "mod's " of this forum to see about having our own section to follow the team through out the year. The team just ran the car two weeks ago at an official off season test...and lets just say it went well. The car was transformed in 21 days and we ended up P1 for the ST class over the 2 day series test. Stay "tunned" for details |

Keep us posted, both on any aftermarket parts that may become available and on your team's performance. Good luck!

Looks like Doran Racing is who's running the 128i's this year, might try contacting them for an update.

The part number for the exhaust manifolds on the higher rated N52 in the X5 is different from the part number for the exhaust manifolds on our 128s. If you could find the parts in a wrecking yard, it might be an option. New from BMW they are quite expensive.
Tube headers are somewhat infamous for exhaust leaks. Maybe $1500 ones don't leak. Tube headers are not going to be as rigid as a cast iron manifold but with a thick enough exhaust flange and correctly machined they ought to be able to work. Jim

Have you guys ever thought about taking the OE 128i cast iron manifolds off the car and having them extrude honed?
That is where a clay like substance is run thru the "part" (under a lot of pressure) and the "clay" has an abrasive that ports and smooths out the part you are extruding. |
