a while ago there was a lot talk of inner premature tyre wear problems. now some time has passed and people have changed tyres makes/rf to non rf etc, are you still experiencing inner wear

Dont think so, just passed my rears on after 16k miles, 4mm on the sides, 4 -5 mm in the middle. Your favourite Bridgestones,! Inner looks ok I think.

Then your tracking is out.

The inner wear were talking about is the rears due to excessive negative camber.

Just looked at mine today. 10,000 miles on Falken FK 452's. Totally even wear all round.

The previous Bridgestone RFT's were c3mm on the inner and c5-6mm in the middle - this was an AUC. I had a 4-wheel Hunter alignment and swopped to non-RFT's and the problem seems to have disappeared.

Even for those who think that RFT's are a good idea, the inner edge wear experienced by (what seems like) the majority of people, means that the tyres are wearing out just too quickly to make economic sense.

By the way, a friend of mine was talking about cars this week and informed me that his new Mazda 6 "does not have a spare wheel." At least he does not have to suffer runflat's.

Surely if my tracking was out I would notice it in the steering, car runs perfectly straight and surely the left would be equally worn. They weren't brand new tyres so may not have been totally even wear I guess initially.

Anyway, winter plan is coming together so the 19s will come off, probably go non runflat when they go back on altho bit worried about dealers attitude come trade in time about non runflats. May keep the used Bridgestones for that reason, so long as he doesn't inspect them fully inside the tyres will seem good tread.

I didn't realise that my alignment was out. The car handled perfectly well, but a "before and after" printout revealed that virtually every setting was out. Some were off the end of the scale.

BTW, it's more than just tracking (where ATS etc. fix in a few minutes), you need to consider 4 wheel laser alignment. Don't go to the dealer. I paid £48, the dealers charge £250 ish.

When i took my summers off, i noticed inside edge wear on my "oldish" bridgestone run flats. On the fronts.

My winters are on now, which are a different size.

I assume i would need to align my winters and summer wheels?

Nope, the wheels wont make any difference to most of the important physical angles set in the suspension.
They should in any case be the same rolling radii.

I always get a car aligned annually though.
Our roads take a toll on bushes etc, and the geo will shift within a few miles on normal bushes.

Had similar on non RFTs so got the wheels laser aligned (about £60, Hunter) - they were quite out of line.

Hoping to get more than 8k miles out of this set of rear tyres! Inner edge wear was pretty bad on the last ones.
