Weird rumble (not a misfire) (video)
Hey all, been having this rough idle for about 500 miles now. Car is stock except for AR downpipes. Car is only throwing cat efficiency codes. So I am pretty much stumped on what the hell this issue could be.
I seafoamed the car, and put in all new fluids. Still gives a rough idle. Cold or warm doesn't make a difference. You can feel this vibration throughout the whole vehicle. When the hood is popped you can see the factory intake shake a little. Upon inspecting the RPMs, ocassionally will dip approx 25-50 rpms then go right back when this happens. No misfire codes though, and when Active Autowerke looked at each cylinder it was fine. If anyone has experienced this and/or solved this issue please let me know. Thanks! -Adrian |

You have AR dps without a tune or 02sims? You might wanna fix the cat inefficiency codes, that could be the issue.

When I say stock I mean without software. Sorry for not posting this. Car had PROcede, Stett CP/tial BoV, K&N Drop In Filter, AR Catless DPs. Now it just has the DPs on. Took out the PROcede to make sure that it was not the cause of the rumble. The car has been tuned since 300 miles. Car has approx 15k now. Tune has been removed for about 300 miles. So its definitely not the tune. Cat codes arent what is causing the issue.

I have this issue too, though not as pronounced, it's more subtle but it is present. The car runs perfectly otherwise. Changed the spark plugs but it did not help. My next step is to change the ignition coils, at 40k miles it's about time anyway...

I have reset adaptations multiple times. There is nothing else I can physically do besides dealer the car. If it is injectors then I will but if anyone has any other ideas or info. Lmk. Btw the car runs perfect wot. Just at idle it's annoying.
Thanks! |

Okay just left the house and decided to enjoy some of the cold weather. Wrong! Misfiring!
29CC 29CE 29CF 29D9 guess it's injectors. Hpfp is fine. Car always starts right up. Sad day! |

Its your plugs. I had the EXACT same problem and i replaced the plugs and never another problem and it idles as new. Also would be interested to see if your valve cover gasket is leaking into the plug wells impeading the coil to transmit the spark correctly as was the case with me.

Going to put the car back to stock tomorrow and take it in. I'll let you guys know what happens. This is very sad! haven't owned the car more than 6 months and it was only at the track 3 times and was well maintained.

Car is back from dealer. They reset software, and the hard misfires are gone. It's still misfiring on idle and it's not perfect but not throwing codes. SA told me to take it home and throw codes an he would have a turbo swap ready and new plugs injectors and hpfp. This SA is amazing and came highly recommended by a close relative.

I had the same issue since I bought the car. Revs stayed constant at idle but I could hear the stumbling. It continued until 24.000 km and disappeared when I changed my spark plugs.
