Is my final stage resistor going out?
I have a 2006 330i. Coming in to work this morning my fan would go on and off intermittently and only work on the three lowest speeds. However, if I pushed the defrost button the blower would go to the highest speed as it should. Is this an indication of the final stage resistor going bad? I replaced one when I had my E46, but did not think it to be a problem on the E90. Where is the best place to get one and is there a good DIY for it for the E90? Thanks!

Your AC blower fan?
Maybe the fan is failing? It is a known problem that the windshield cowl will leak onto the AC blower and cause it to rust and fail prematurely. A wet passenger side footwell is also a symptom. Here's the TSB: http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/bulletins/...p/B513305g.htm |
